Restoring forests may be one of our most powerful weapons in fighting climate change

The Tongass Nat’l Forest in Alaska absorbs approximately 8 percent of the nation’s annual global warming pollution and stores an estimated 10-12 percent of all carbon in our national forests. We should be preserving the magnificent places, not clearcutting them.
