The brake cylinder on TCRT 1300 has been leaking air for many years. But last year the problem got worse. The compressor had to run frequently to maintain reservoir pressure. With the car in the Como-Harriet barn for the winter, the cylinder has been removed and is being rebuilt. Museum volunteer Jim Willmore is pictured working on the guide bushing on the piston rod end of the brake cylinder. If you recognize the machine Jim is using and understand what was just said, you should consider becoming a member of the Minnesota Streetcar Museum. Our crews meet weekly at both the Como-Harriet and Excelsior Streetcar Lines to perform maintenance and repair on our fleet of historic trolleys.
