Community related: Let's keep our small businesses running during this time. Many of our "mom and pop" establishments in our community are doing take-out/delivery only. They may be open to ensure we have essentials such as prescriptions, food, and yes, toilet paper. Let's get the word out on those places in our community so we can utilize them. Comment below with a small business so we can keep them going. An empty building is not good in any community. Here's a few off the top of my head: Village Pantry, Covered Bridge Coffee Roasters, Smoke'n Dudes BBQ, Riccio Pharmacy, Casanova's, Johnny G's, Fireside Grill, Peppe's Mexican Grill, Erwin's Country Kitchen....thanks to Levittown Now for the photo.

First and foremost, the health, safety, and well-being of the residents of the Borough is our Number one priority. For that reason, the following restrictions are being put in place in order to protect the health and safety of the residents of Blakely and the employees and volunteers of the Borough.

o Any questions regarding garbage and recycling pick up can be directed to the borough at (570) 383-3340. Email your questions or concerns to Blakelyborough@blakelyborough.org.

o Our Department of Public Works will be working during this time, and we ask that residents please disinfect trash cans and recycling bins to help protect our workers.

• Public access to the Blakely Police Department, 1439 Main Street, Peckville, PA 18452 will be restricted until further notice.

o If you have an emergency and need a police officer, immediately call 911.

• Public access to the Borough parks is restricted until further notice.

• Public access to the Blakely Fire Departments and the Blakely Borough Community Ambulance will be restricted until further notice.

o If you have an emergency and need the fire department or emergency services immediately call 911.

While access is being restricted to the public, the Borough will continue to thoroughly clean and disinfect all Borough office and Borough parks, so they are ready for public use once the State of Emergency is lifted.

We ask that you please follow all directives from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health when it comes to the COVID-19 crisis.

Thank you for your cooperation. Stay safe and practice social distancing.

President Trump Declares Today a National Day of Prayer

Thank you to Chair Janis Holt of the new NFRW Faith Coalition Committee for providing us these inspirational words. – Ann Schockett, NFRW President

The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.” As we, as Republican women, gather in our Houses of Worship on this National Day of Prayer, let us ask Almighty God to bless this nation, to heal us from this virus that threatens us and to protect those who are caring for those that are sick. We also ask God to continue to give wisdom to President Trump, Vice President Pence and the entire leadership team, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.
